Krasno Orange continues our story of expressing the Brda terroir which is why our winemaker Darinko Ribolica decided to make it a blend of three typical white varieties from Brda – 40% Rebula, 30% Malvasia and 30% Sauvignonasse. The wine was macerated for one year, each variety separately. Rebula was macerated in a wooden barrel, Malvasia and Sauvignonasse in a stainless steel tank. Krasno Orange is a more complex and structured wine than our other white wines. It has a different aromatic structure, quite a lot of tannins and a 5 to 10 year aging potential. We expect it to become even better with time, softer and even more pleasant. We recommend to pair it with dishes with a stronger taste may that be chicken with herbs or spicy grilled vegetables.
Krasno Orange was produced according to the principles of sustainable production. This year, Klet Brda decided to consolidate the sustainable production rules, already in place for most of our members, by adopting the Rules on sustainable production of grapes and wine at Klet Brda. Chosen as a symbol of our commitment to sustainable production was a bee, as the presence of bees in our vineyards reflects their ecological balance and biodiversity. Bees provide one of the most notable ecosystem functions, which is pollination – a process that makes cultivation of food possible. You can read more about this in the attached brochure.
