Subtle and elegant in the style of modern European wines

This artful blend of selected grape varieties from the best vineyards produces wines which are soft, full and with real aromatic elegance. Chardonnay-Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot-Cabernet Franc move away from the heavy and over-extracted wines which are so often seen at the premium level, instead focusing on clear varietal aromas and minerality, in which the soils of Brda are best reflected.

Vineyard

Grass-covered vineyards are grown on steep terraced slopes where most of the work is done by hand. The grapevines are planted on the best sunlit sites and trained mostly according to the single Guyot system. All the vineyards are IO to 50 years old and included in integrated farm management systems.

Production in the winery

DE BAGUER – WHITE
Each grape variety is processed separately. Before destemming, the grapes are cooled down to 8°C. After 48 hours of cold clarification, only the completely clear grape juice is used and transferred to French barriques, in the case of Chardonnay, and to stainless steel tanks, in the case of Sauvignon, for fermentation. Once the fermentation is completed, the wine matures for 12 months on the lees with weekly battonage. Finally, the two varieties are blended and left to age in stainless steel tanks.

DE BAGUER – RED
Each grape variety is processed separately. The maceration period is long and takes place in conical wooden vinificators at a temperature of 25-28°C. After the maceration, Merlot is poured into new 225-litre barrique barrels and Cabernet Franc into new 350-litre barrels. The two wines are blended only after they have matured separately for 24 months. Further ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks .
