SYNERGIES CREATE NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR SLOVENIAN WINE EXPORTS
Alps Wine, a company which has been successfully marketing and exporting Slovenian wines to China, has formed a partnership with Klet Brda, the largest wine producer and exporter in Slovenia.
The idea to join forces emerged after years of cooperation on this rapidly expanding market. Thanks to its burgeoning middle class and purchasing power, as well as the increasing consumption of European wine and food in Asia, China’s economic development has opened up business opportunities for Slovenian winemakers. Both partners firmly believe that success is the result of cooperation. Beside exporting premium Slovenian wines, they also want to increase Slovenia’s appeal as a tourist destination throughout the world.
As he signed the recapitalisation agreement, Silvan Peršolja, director of Klet Brda, had the following to say: “Due to the belief that together we can achieve more, Alps Wine has invited its largest partner, Klet Brda, to enter its ownership structure. In this way, we will consolidate the base of Slovenian wine exporters that have already been successfully collaborating with Alps Wine, but we will also open our doors to all those who have just embarked on this journey.”
Martin Gobec, director of Alps Wine, added: “The trust Klet Brda puts in our knowledge of the Chinese market and the work we have done thus far both confirm that we have indeed managed to establish a successful platform for promoting Slovenian wines on this promising market. I believe that together we will be more efficient in enhancing Slovenia’s reputation as a wine-growing region and tourist destination, and above all, sell more Slovenian wine.”
