6 advices for responsible wine consumption

I know what I eat and dring

Matching food with wine is not only a pleasant experience; it also slows down alcohol absorption in blood, meaning that we remain sober. Moderation should be our guiding principle.

Wine and water. Always

We should always drink a glass of water for every glass of wine. This reduces alcohol level and prevents dehydration and its consequences. Water is for thirst, wine for pleasure.

Acknowledge your limits

The recommended daily intake is 2 units for men and 1 unit for women. 1 unit = 1 decilitre of wine.

Regulary or sometimes?

Drinking up to two units of wine a day minimises the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Larger quantities may increase the risks of disease or injury due to alcohol consumption. On special occasions, the highest recommended daily intake of wine is four units.

Always drive sober!

Before we head to a party we should agree on whom will drive or we can call a taxi afterwards for a safe drive home.

Who should not drink wine?

Minors, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, people on medication, and anyone else advised against alcohol consumption by their doctor.

Klet Brda winery promotes responsible, safe and moderate wine drinking.
