The 28th annual Chardonnay du Monde® competition was held on 09 to 12 March 2021 at Château des Ravatys, the wine estate of the Pasteur Institute at Saint Lager in the Burgundy wine region of France.
Every year, in March, Chardonnay wines from more than 35 countries enter into the competition. The experts-jury tastes according to strict standards of quality to insure the credibility of this renowned international competition.
We are very proud that our Quercus Chardonnay 2020 won a silver medal.
Quercus Chardonnay is straightforward, rich-bodied and a has a decided taste. The wine is straw yellow in colour, aroma is a wide range from apple, melon to peach and pineapple. It has a smooth and full-bodied taste with a velvety finish. This Chardonnay goes really well with veal or porc cutlet, spicy fish dishes and pasta with an intense taste.
Grapes were grown in vineyards with southwest, south and east exposure, at 80 to 200 m above sea level. The age of the vineyards is between 10 and 30 years. Grapes are exclusively hand-picked. Fermentation and maturing was done in stainless steel tanks.
