Schumacher wines closer to German consumers

Badischer Winzerkeller and former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher launch long-term collaboration.

Badischer Winzerkeller and Ralf Schumacher officially joined forces on 1st January 2025. As part of a long-term cooperation, Badischer Winzerkeller eG from Breisach is taking over the distribution rights for the product line of the former successful Formula 1 driver and now recognised Formula 1 expert on the SKY TV channel. In addition to his success in motorsport, Ralf Schumacher is also an enthusiastic wine lover and producer. His passion for wine drives him to conquer the German wine market together with a strong team. With the aim of creating exceptional wines that combine quality and innovation, he is pursuing the vision of achieving top performance in the world of wine too.

‘We are thus expanding our portfolio to include outstanding products that are created in the Klet Brda cooperative in Slovenia,’ explained André Weltz, CEO of Badischer Winzerkeller. ‘Together with our partners, we want to make these exceptional wines accessible to consumers in Germany.’

Both companies share the responsibility of paying their winegrowers an appropriate grape price in their respective cooperative structures. ‘We want to secure the future of the winegrowing trade’, as stated in paragraph 2 of the Badischer Winzerkeller’s Sonnenwinzercharta.

‘We are incredibly proud that Ralf Schumacher has placed his trust in us to market his wines,’ emphasised Lea Tritschler, Head of Corporate, Business and Brand Development at Badischer Winzerkeller.

Ralf Schumacher was enthusiastic about the partnership: ‘We share a passion for great wines, and the people at Badischer Winzerkeller convinced me immediately. We are now taking the next logical step towards a successful future. I am looking forward to a long-term collaboration.’

The contract was signed in Munich at the beginning of December and marks the start of a promising partnership characterised by exceptional wine culture.

About the Badischen Winzerkeller

Badischer Winzerkeller – wine variety directly from the producer. Quality from Baden.

Badischer Winzerkeller is a producer organisation founded in 1952 and based in Breisach am Rhein. Today’s BWK 2.0 unites around 50 member co-operatives to form a strong winery. The principle of ‘one for all, all for one’ applied in the early days as it does today. A lively chronicle and an active CHARTA BWK have developed from this tradition. Quality, a way of life and a passion for the winemaking trade are the hallmarks of the typical Baden wines from Badischer Winzerkeller. Burgundy varieties spoilt by the sun are available nationwide as branded wines in well-stocked grocery stores. However, other grape varieties and wines from a wide range of locations in the local wine region also find their way to consumers and bring the Baden sunshine into the glass. www.badischer-
